Still looking for volunteers to support the pie campaign, I have some contact from a number of you with tales of success just proving the point that, done properly, you cannot pie or be pied without making someone smile.

So I want more people to take part in this campaign, share your thoughts and any photos to make us all smile!

Have a great weekend and, whatever the weather, be happy!

And by this I mean the people of London.

Now this is not a slight on London as it was, but it seems to me that people seem to be smiling a little more and being more polite to each other.

This confuses and delights me in equal measure. I am confused as I did not think the credit crunch would lead to any positive change perhaps we feel that the worst is over?

Of course this could be an isolated incident, I could be wrong, but I do hope I am not!

Good luck London and keep up with the random acts of happiness and of course I am still looking for more silly people to join the pie challenge - thanks to those who are already on board, fast work and good luck guys!

Be happy

Dr. Happy

 Comments

The pies have not gone away...

Okay, so I have been out of the loop for a while... Unfortunately these things happy - but I am more keen than ever to get the happiness project rolling and in particular the 'Wear A Pie - Happiness Campaign'

Just to remind you all, the idea is to try doing something totally silly with the aid of custard and pie crust.

So I want you all to join me in a simple pledge...

Take a pie (see below for a recipe) and do the following:

a) Pie a friend (take a pie, place lovingly into their face) - now please two things, don't break their nose (gentle!) and ask permission - we don't want you all getting into trouble

or

b) Get pied - ask someone to pie you (same rules as above)

10 points for a 20 points for b - can you get a high score...

And all of this is because I really believe that you cannot do this without raising a smile... In these days of financial troubles all we need is a smile... We can do it, one pie at a time!

I would like to ask you to post a comment to pledge a pie and also when you score points... Kudos to those who help the better world plan!

With all my love

Dr Happy

However I am back now and looking forward to making more people happy - are you with me?

 Comments

Why be happy...

I was in London today, now I have to admit that I travel a lot and although I no longer live in London (I am now more of a country bumkin), I have to go to the city quite often.

Now, I think this is no doubt true of every big city, but you really don't notice all that much in the way of people being happy! Obvious really when smiling at someone on the tube makes them think that you are either mad or pervy or both.

So perhaps all of the city dwellers (and those who visit) should make the effort to give one random act of happyness tomorrow. Hold a door open, be polite, just be happy.

Little things, but we can start to make a change.

Be Happy

Dr. Happy

PS: Pie update, I have been talking to people about the wear a pie project (is it a project?) - go to http://sites.google.com/site/wearapie/ for details (terrible website, I promise to improve it). I have some people who want to pledge to join the pie league... So now, it seems we are sort of underway.

Someone did say perhaps we should do this for charity also (double happy?) - so I will see what we can do. Please suggest a charity (and a pie flavor)

Thanks

Making the world happy with pastry

Look I am sort of rethinking something I posted yesterday... It's okay, I have been told I can!

I posted yesterday that you should pie someone, okay bad mistake... I had a lot of people tell me (hello nice people) that this would not make people happy, quite the opposite...

I still happen to think that pies are silly and have the world beating oppertunity to make people happy, therefore, I am changing the plan slightly.

Please don't pie anyone... But instead, get them to pie you (or pie yourself if you must!) I am looking to create a league of pied people, all with the single aim of making the world just that little bit sillier, you see I still belive that slapstick has the power to make people happy.

Please go and visit the new (and not very good yet) Wear A Pie site - http://sites.google.com/site/wearapie/ and sign the pledge of piedness... Then you are on your way to doing your bit.

{People, I believe we can change the world, one pie at a time... Please support and tell your friends, even if it is to say, what a mad fool he must be...}

Be happy

Well. actually I am, I have some tricks you see, and the simplest is finding the right music to play.

Okay, finally the good Doctor has gone mad, but you will find that, the right, upbeat, happy music can make you feel better even when it is cold and wet. Of course it isn't a cure all, but it is a good start. Try playing a great, sunny track and thinking of the good things... (perhaps even who you would want to pie in the Pie Challenge - check the other threads).

But how do you conquer bad days, I would love to share your happiness tips with the world!

But don't know what to do to be silly? I have an idea, I would like to introduce a pie challenge...

It's simple, simply take one pie (I prefer a nice custard pie, but chocolate will do, heck, be creative!) and one friend and then go for your life!

10 points per pie... and tell me one thing, I belive it is impossible to pie someone without smiling... and (as long as they are not wearing their best clothes) will also smile too!

My suggestion, make two pies and have a joint pie splat!

Comments on how you get on welcomed, and sorry, we cannot be held responsible for dry cleaning bills!

Be Happy!

Simple Custard Pie

1 x Pastry pie case
1 x Packet of Ready made custard
1 x Can of spray cream

Simply assemble and fling!

 Comments

Are you really happy?

Look, what with the credit crunch, money problems and the world just being a plain ol' nasty place I think we are forgetting some really important things...

I will ask you again the question that I have posed in the title of this blog, are you really happy? Do you even remember how to be happy?

You see, I want to help a little... I would like to introduce sillyness, happiness and general good feeling wherever we are. Okay, I do realise that this idea has been done before, and by better people, however there is no loss in having a go.

Here is the idea:

a) Introduce a 'Random Act Of Happiness' in your day
b) Be silly at least once per day...

What is a random act of happiness?

Well, it could be as simple as smiling and saying hello to someone, hold the door open don't just push through. It could be making an effort to be happy today.

And silliness? Well, you tell me, be funny, do something daft (yet safe!).

What do you get? Firstly you will feel happy and secondly you can join the happiness league. No prizes I am afraid, but a list of people and things that they have done.

Go on, write in and tell me how what you could do to make the world a happier place, or take part in our random challenge.

Be happy!

Dr. Happy

 Comments
